This is not a business – nothing is for sale!
It’s just about sharing a hobby… Which has perhaps got a little out of control….
It started in 1974 when some friends and I cycled to Woodstock in Oxfordshire to watch the “massed start” cycle races at Blenheim Palace.
In 1975 I rode the event as a Junior (under 18) with the Oxford City Road Club – of which I remain a member. I didn’t trouble the judges but…
…I was riding the Holdsworth Cronometro I still own. Custom built, the frame ordered from Roy Thame (the Holdsworth Campagnolo team manager) himself – I specified every detail – he was very patient! Thus began my love of classic (of course they were not classic then) steel bikes.
A few (!) years later I have restored well over 50 bikes and have a similar number of frames waiting to be restored.
A few have had to go when the taxman cometh….
It’s a family thing – we have ridden Eroica together a number of times, Julie rides regularly for pleasure, Freddy was a member of V C Londres and Florence competes with Sport City Velo who are based at Manchester Velodrome.
