I bought the frame from an elderly fellow in South London who claimed it was an ex Maurice Burton 6 Day frame – although it looks the part there is nothing to substantiate his claim. The wheels were used by Darryl Webster to win a number of national championships for sure though – I bought them from him! Standard issue Campag….This one actually gets used! Well actually only on the odd open session at Manchester – I have only done the first stage of accreditation and am hopelessly unfit! Chainset and pedals concessions to modernity…Probably late sixties I think…. Came painted matt black with the wrong forks but distinctly Holdsworth! Forks obviously not original but are period correct. Old school Campag – any high pressure (that’s what we used to call clichers…) tyres as I though I might use it on the road. Painted by Mario Vaz (ex Holdsworth).
A couple of my favourite things on this bike – Cinelli 1R stem and painted fork crown with chrome fork blades…. Ofmega rather than Campag cranks, double toeclips and straps (just couldn’t resist!). Lovely paint by Bob Jackson…
Now for something different! Might have been built as a pursuit bike but I see it as the TT bike I always wanted!
